Elixir

Elixir is a 2D platformer where the player controls an adventurer navigating a world of shifting platforms, ladders, and hostile creatures. The game aims to merge responsive movements with wall jumps and timed attacks on the enemy.

Players traverse moving a, dodge patrolling enemies, and shoot projectiles through the air. We strive to instill a sense of depth in world traversal by utilizing multiple scrolling, parallaxing backgrounds that ground the player in the physical world. There are also hidden shops where players can purchase upgrades and special items.

Lastly, we wouldn’t truly have an abyss without darkness and fog. Our levels are extremely dark and must be navigated with illumination. Therefore, we have a personal character light that shrinks and grows according to the player's health – the lower your health, the smaller your light, and therefore the more challenging it will be to navigate around.
